A Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) is a healthcare professional who perform various clinical tasks to assist doctors, including assisting with medication administration and minor procedures, performing electrocardiogram (EKG) tests, obtaining lab specimens for testing, and educating patients. Students who complete this comprehensive class will be prepared to take the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) national certification exam, which is included in the class.
The CCMA training is a 12 week program and consists of 76 hours of classroom and lab instruction and 80 hours of externship at an approved clinical site. Participants MUST attend all sessions, and complete 80 externship hours, to be eligible to sit for the CCMA exam though NHA.
